NAUTICAL will commercialize the new SAILOR Fleet One terminal to be launched during the second quarter of 2014.

Fleet One will be the latest addition to Inmarsat’s L-band portfolio. The new service has been designed to meet the particular communications needs of leisure mariners, day boaters and sport and coastal fisherman, providing uninterrupted, near-shore voice and data connectivity.

SAILOR Fleet One will enable data connectivity up to 100kbps and a single voice line. Its capabilities offer significant communications functionality for recreational and fishing users. The Fleet One service, accessed utilizing the low cost SAILOR Fleet One terminal, will be provided through the Inmarsat-4 satellite constellation.

Fleet One will deliver always-available solutions such as navigation and weather information, e-logs and tracking, as well as general applications like email, social media, texting and voice calls which end-users can also access using their own smartphone via a SIP server.

End-users will also have access to Inmarsat’s free 505 emergency calling service, which connects directly to a Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre.

SAILOR Fleet One is designed to the same high quality standard as the existing SAILOR FleetBroadband product line. The antenna is light and easy to install, even on small boats, and connecting to the below deck equipment is simple.

Also there will be special airtime packages adapted to these small vessels needs.
